Call for Special Sessions and Workshops

6th International Mobile Multimedia Communications Conference

6th-8th September 2010 - Lisbon, Portugal

CALL FOR PROPOSALS:

Following the successful track of special sessions and workshops held during the last Mobimedia edition, Mobimedia 2010 welcomes half/full-day-length special sessions and workshops focused around interdisciplinary research on future internet for green and pervasive media, specifically targeting:

  • Disruptive and evolutionary technologies for energy-efficient future internet
  • Mechanisms for streaming Enhanced multimedia Applications across heterogeneous cognitive networks for optimizing Quality of Experience.
  • Novel radio network architectures enabling the innovative usage of  radio spectrum with the aim of radical cost- and energy-reduction
  • Enabling technologies to allow energy efficient use of TVWS (Television White Spaces)  for wireless communications based on the spectrum sharing business models
  • Incentives to encourage cooperation among users and attractive business models for the network/service providers to stimulate and motivate cooperative networking among users and between heterogeneous networks.
  • Integration of  wireless and navigation for the benefit of future mobile radio systems

Proposals should focus on more specific research fields than the main conference, gathering specialized audience and researchers with common interests and expertise.

Proposals on emerging topics that are likely to generate significant interest and impact in the research community will be highly preferred. Proposals closely related to ongoing related projects within the current 7th Framework Programme (FP7) are strongly encouraged. Workshops and special sessions will be held in conjunction with the main track of the conference.

All accepted papers will be published in Springer Lecture Notes of ICST (LNICST) series and included in major article indexing services.

Extended Versions of Selected Papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of the ACM/Springer Mobile Networks and Applications (MONET) Journal on Future Internet for Green and Pervasive Media.
